Description
Organizational legitimacy and reputation are concepts normally associated to the social acceptance of the activities that one organization develops in a social system. Some authors has expressed their concern about the accomplishment of social function of banks because of the low level of bancarization in Colombia, but also because the importance of their portfolio investments at the expense of their credit portfolio. This study aims to measure organizational legitimacy and reputation on commercial banks in the Colombian context using the method developed by Deephouse and Carter (2005). These measures could be useful in order to establish if there are a relationship between organizational legitimacy and reputation and the bancarization level of the country.
