Description

In recent years, Latin american universities have raised various institutional proposals to improve reading and writing skills among members of their academic communities. Writing centers are spaces of individual support for developing writing skills, while writing programs may be much broader proposals that may even have writing centers. This project is aimed to knowing the current status of these programs in Latin america and the trends that have characterized them as to their conceptual foundations, operational strategies, working with teachers and academic management processes. The investigation will involve programs linked to the Latin american Network of Writing Centers and Programs, which is coordinated and headed from this university. The results of this research will be in the service of the same participant programs with the intention to establish some guidelines that can improve the operation of these programs and contribute to the development of new programs in the region
