Description
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the level of adherence to treatment in HIV/AIDS patients in relation to pharmacological and non-pharmacological recommendations, and to identify related factors. This observational study has a cross-sectional design, the sample is composed of 180 patients from two health institutions from Cali. assessment of adherence of treatment and of the related factors (personal, illness-related and treatment-related, social and from the health system) will be done through self-report measures and registration of information from the patients’ medical records. The results of this study will allow to understand the complex behaviour of adherence to treatment and to guide the interventions aimed to improve it in order to contribute to the control of HIV/AIDS, to promote quality of life and to lower the social and economic costs of the illness.
