Zulma Patricia Zuluaga Ocampo

My research interests fall into two broad areas. The first is language teaching, specifically the teaching and learning of reading and writing in the early years of schooling, and the teaching and learning of academic reading and writing at university. Within this area, I have participated in research aimed at determining the teaching challenges of reading and writing in university education and formulating proposals to address them. The second is the ongoing training of teachers in informal structures and dynamics, from the perspective of Communities of Practice. Here, an understanding of practices from proposals such as situated learning has been fundamental.

Methodologically, my expertise lies in qualitative research using approaches such as narrative biography, constructivist grounded theory, and the use of tools and procedures from ethnography.
