Overview
Personal profile
I am a PhD candidate in Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a university lecturer and researcher in telecommunications and IoT systems. My work focuses on developing intelligent systems for precision agriculture by integrating sensor fusion, computer vision, and machine learning to monitor and enable early prediction of water stress, with an emphasis on banana crops in the Magdalena region of Colombia.
I design and implement multiscale IoT architectures for in-field data acquisition and management, combining soil and environmental sensing with data analytics and predictive modeling to generate actionable agronomic indicators that support irrigation decision-making. I develop reproducible Python pipelines for data integration, quality control, feature extraction, and evaluation of regression and classification models using metrics such as RMSE, MAE, AUC, and F1. My goal is to deliver robust, transferable solutions that connect sensing, data, and AI to improve water-use efficiency and productivity in agroindustrial systems.
