Overview

Personal profile

Introduction
Biochemist and molecular biologist.
I'm interested in understanding the mechanisms employed by plants and associated microorganisms to respond to different types of stresses and environmental stimuli. Our approaches have aimed to integrate genomic information, coupled with transcriptomic strategies to search for the genes associated with these responses, as well as physiological characterizations, also seeking to elucidate the mechanisms and gene regulatory circuits behind these complex responses.

Establishing this connection between the molecular bases of gene regulation and phenotypic responses will allow us to identify biotechnological solutions applicable to agriculture.

Our current research projects are aimed at studying plant stress biology, seed physiology, communication between plants and associated microorganisms, and metabolic diversity in tropical crops.
