Yady Tatiana Solano-Correa has been affiliated with Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Cali, since 2024 and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science. She teaches in the Systems Engineering undergraduate program and the Master’s in Data Science program, and conducts research in the fields of environmental remote sensing and data science.

She has carried out various research projects on topics such as remote sensing, climate change, water and food security, data science, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. She has supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate theses in these areas. Likewise, she has worked as a consultant in the fields of water security and climate change, and has served as a visiting professor at Universidad del Cauca and Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar.

Her main research interests include the applications of remote sensing and data science to environmental issues. She is also interested in the applications of artificial intelligence and the management of large volumes of satellite data in the cloud.

Over the years, she has published a considerable number of original papers (with more than 600 citations) in highly regarded peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. She serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters in the field of remote sensing, and as a reviewer for several journals (in the same fields) from IEEE, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, MDPI, among others, as well as for the flagship international conference in remote sensing, IEEE IGARSS. She is a founding member of the Colombian Network of Researchers in Space Science and Technology.
