    Overview

    Personal profile

PhD - Biological Sciences from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Where I also did my undergradaute and masters. My focus area is the landscape ecology applied to biological conservation, I have worked in projects and peer review publications regarding deforestation, forest degradation, ecological effects of fire, among others. Mi research experience has center on the assessment of ecological processes at different scales: individual (animal movement); community (diversity, occupation, and occurrence patterns); landscape (effects of fire regimes and forest fragmentation). I have had several national and international funding sources for the development of these projects. I teach in the areas of landscape ecology, fire ecology, general ecology and ecological restoration. I belong to different groups and networks that seek to highlight the research in Colombia, the role of women, and healthy scientific and academic collaboration. I support and advocate for science communication towards the general public through socialization in digital media and bill proposals.
