Full Professor and researcher at the Pontifical Xavierian University, with extensive experience in immunology, molecular oncology, antitumor immunotherapy, and the development of phytomedicines. Her work focuses on translational research and the development of innovative therapeutic alternatives against cancer based on natural products, integrating basic research, preclinical development, and technology transfer.
She holds a degree in Bacteriology from the Pontifical Xavierian University, an MSc in Immunology from the University of Antioquia, an MSc in Molecular Oncology from the Centro de Estudios Biosanitarios in Madrid (Spain), and a PhD in Immunology from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (France). She completed postdoctoral training in antitumor immunotherapy and molecular immunology at Saint Louis and Necker Hospitals in Paris.
She currently serves as Scientific Director and CEO of DreemBio S.A.S., a Colombian biotechnology startup focused on the development of phytomedicines for cancer and immune modulation, and as Scientific Director of Phairilab (France). She has led major science, technology, and innovation initiatives, including the GAT ecosystem program “Generation of Therapeutic Alternatives Against Cancer from Plants” and the NIDO program “Strengthening Productive Chains: Biodiversity in Health”.
Her expertise includes tumor immunology, immunogenic cell death, immunometabolism, bioactive natural products, preclinical development of antitumor therapies, murine cancer models, technology transfer, and intellectual property management. She is co-inventor of more than 12 patents granted in the United States, Canada, Europe, Brazil, and Colombia, currently transferred to DreemBio.
She has led multiple interdisciplinary national and international collaborations focused on the use of biodiversity for applications in human health. She is a member of the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences.
