Paula Ruiz Talero is an Internal Medicine physician graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a master's degree in anticoagulant treatment from the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), Spain.

She has been linked to the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since 2014 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine of the School of Medicine. She teaches in the Medical School and in the Internal Medicine Specialization program. Additionally, she develops research work in the field of anticoagulation and thrombosis. 

She is an active member of the Research Group in Adult Chronic Diseases of Colciencias, with a research line focused on anticoagulation and thrombosis. In this area, she has contributed to the publication of a considerable number of original articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals of high reputation.
