In my work I have been involved in microbial culture processes, using genetically engineered microorganisms (bacteria and yeasts), to obtain recombinant proteins for therapeutic use. I have worked in the initial steps of recovery processes, including cell disruption. I have experience in the preparation and control of Primary and Working Cell Banks, as well as in the production, purification, optimisation and scale-up study of recombinant protein production; and production of human and animal bacterins. I have experience using molecular biology techniques as tools for microbial diagnosis and molecular characterisation of microorganisms. I have taught subjects related to molecular biology, recombinant protein production and quality control in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, biotechnological processes and biochemistry of microorganisms, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
