    Overview

    Personal profile

I am Romario Rivera-Sanabria, a nurse with a master's degree in biomedical sciences and a specialization in adult critical care. My professional career has focused on integrating biochemistry and molecular biology into the study of critically ill patients, with an emphasis on optimizing evidence-based care.

I have experience in university-level nursing education, teaching courses on geriatric care, trauma, and critical care nursing. Additionally, I have been involved in training professionals in molecular biology as applied to health sciences.

My research focuses on evaluating interventions in critically ill patients, supported by the best available evidence. I have worked with molecular biology technologies to assess the use of metformin in gestational diabetes and its impact on placental gene expression, as well as in the analysis of inflammatory markers in pregnancies complicated by COVID-19 or hyperglycemia.

Currently, I develop training strategies for nurses in critical care and participate in research projects on hospital care models. My goal is to contribute to nursing innovation through teaching and research, promoting care practices based on the best available scientific evidence.
