    Overview

    Personal profile

My interests focus on population genetics, conservation genetics, and molecular biology, with an emphasis on the study of genetic diversity in animal and plant species, as well as topics related to biodiversity conservation and the control of illegal wildlife trafficking. I have worked on the use of molecular markers for the analysis of genetic variability, population structure, and evolutionary processes in wild species of importance to Colombian biodiversity.

In parallel, I carry out teaching and academic management activities in higher education, particularly in the areas of Genetics, Cell Biology, Biodiversity Conservation, and Conservation Genetics. I am interested in curriculum strengthening, comprehensive student education, and the integration of research, teaching, and academic outreach. I have participated in student mentoring processes, research project development, and the design of strategies aimed at strengthening biology education within contemporary scientific and social contexts.

My work seeks to contribute both to the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge and to the strengthening of Biology education, promoting critical thinking, research, and biodiversity conservation.
