Overview
Personal profile
I am a PhD candidate in Economics at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where my research lies at the intersection of macroeconomics, econometrics, and computational methods like Machine Learning. My work focuses on designing and implementing alternative structural macroeconomic models, particularly Stock-Flow Consistent (SFC) and Agent-Based Models (ABM). Through this framework, I investigate complex empirical issues, including the drivers of high inequality, the persistence of poverty, and the dynamics of labor and financial markets. For my dissertation, I am developing an SFC-ABM of the Colombian economy to evaluate the distributional impact of public policies, with a specific focus on modeling the formal-informal labor market duality. Ultimately, my contribution aims to advance the application of heterodox modeling tools in policymaking.
