Nestor Fernando Correa Molano

    Personal profile

    Medical doctor and political scientist with postgraduate training in international health and currently a doctoral student in Clinical Epidemiology, supported by a scholarship from the NIHR Global Health Research Centre in Latin America. He serves as a research assistant in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He has been a fellow of the “Young Researchers and Innovators” program of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia, where he supported the development of research projects at the Institute of Public Health, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. His research interests include epidemiology, global health, health inequities, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and mental health.

    During his undergraduate studies, he served as the student coordinator for the student research groups within the Faculty of Medicine. He was director of the Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Hospital Universitario San Ignacio, and founder and coordinator of the Public Health Student Research Group (SALUS) at the Institute of Public Health. He received the Cruz San Pedro Claver award from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in recognition of his outstanding professional performance, exemplary personal qualities, and strong commitment to Javerian ideals.
