    Nelly Stella Roa Molina, Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Dentistry, Sciences and Bioengineering of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ). Dentist from PUJ with a master's degree in Microbiology with an Emphasis in Immunology from PUJ and a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She is currently the director of the Dental Research Center (CIO) of the Faculty of Dentistry of the PUJ. He belongs to and is leader of the Dental Research Center research group category A1 recognized by Minciencias.

     

    His research career is notable in oral mucosal immunity, its response to S. mutans, local periodontitis and its relationship with the systemic response, and in the immunomodulation of chronic inflammatory processes from phytomedicines, induction of regulatory LTs and knowledge of the biology of stem cells obtained from oral tissues; topics focused on translational dentistry-medicine. Their efforts are reflected in their intellectual products with numerous scientific articles (23) in indexed journals of high national and international impact, socialization of research results in (42) national and international events; in his teaching career training 8 master's students in Sciences and Bioengineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering respectively and is currently training 3 doctoral students in Biological Sciences and Materials Sciences from the Faculty of Sciences; graduated 1 doctoral student in Sciences from the PUJ in co-tutorship with the doctorate in Technological Innovation from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, has directed 18 theses on dental specialties from the Faculty of Dentistry of the PUJ and 5 specialists in periodontics and orthodontics in alliance with the National University of Colombia.
