Dr. Natalia Poveda Rey is an Assistant Professor and researcher in the Department of Nutrition and Biochemistry at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She holds a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics, a MS in Biochemistry, and a PhD in Nutrition and Health Sciences. Her doctoral work focused on the life-course epidemiology of adult body composition, analyzing growth, early nutrition, and the adult environment in six cohorts from five low- and middle-income countries. Her postdoctoral research extended her work on nutrition and life-course epidemiology by harmonizing and combining US cohorts to create synthetic trajectories to study obesity dynamics during the first four decades of life. Natalia aims to contribute to the understanding of the etiology and mechanisms underlying obesity at the individual and population levels across the life course.
