Personal profile

Francy Liliana Moreno Herrera works at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since 2022 and is currently a full-time Assistant Professor III in the Department of Literature. She teaches in the Undergraduate Program in Literary Studies and in the Master's Program in Literature. She also conducts research in the fields of Literary Studies and cultural criticism in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

She has led various research projects in the fields of journals, periodicals and essays in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has been leader of the Research Groups: Grupo de Investigación Literaria del Caribe, GILKARÍ (Universidad del Atlántico 2016-2022) and Problemáticas de Historias Literarias latinoamericanas y colombianas: Canon y Corpus (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana 2022-to date). She has directed several research projects related to the materiality of literature and has participated as co-investigator in different projects and inter-institutional programs with the Centro de Investigaciones de América Latina y El Caribe, CIALC- UNAM; with the Universidad Nacional de Colombia; with the program "Entre Espacios. Movements, actors and representations of globalization" of the International Graduate School (UNAM, El Colegio de México, Lateinamerika Institut, LAI, Freie Universität Berlin, Potsdam Univerisität), among others. He was a member of the RedEnsayo network (Mexico-CIALC-CONACYT) and is part of the "Revistas Culturales 2" network (Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen).

Her main research interests include the means of circulation of literature (oral, digital and printed) and problems related to literary materiality, magazines and periodicals, and the essay. In recent years she has been interested in digital culture and non-fictional prose (essay and chronicle), as well as oralituras and the relationship between literature and journalism. 

She is the author of the book La invención de una cultura literaria. Sur and Orígenes two Latin American magazines of the twentieth century (Mexico: CIALC-UNAM 2014).  Over the years she has collaborated in specialized anthologies such as Banquete de imágenes en el aniversario de José Lezama Lima (Mexico, El Colegio de México 2015), she has also published a considerable number of articles in international peer-reviewed journals of high reputation. The professor has been a reviewer in several specialized journals such as Latinoamérica (CIALC- UNAM), Caracol (USP) and Literatura, Teoría Historia y Crítica (UNAL).
