My areas of research interest are: teaching and learning academic reading and writing from a literacy perspective; academic writing in postgraduate programs and language teaching applied to mother tongue teaching, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, and education. As well as school management and leadership of teaching administrators.
My research has been mainly qualitative, although I have also conducted some mixed studies, such as the one published in the book El desafío de leer textos académicos en la universidad: experiencias de investigación y propuestas didácticas (The challenge of reading academic texts at university: research experiences and teaching proposals), published by the National University of Colombia.
I have experience in training language teachers; supporting writing tutors and novice academic writers through writing circles; leadership in the study group Didactic Devices for Writing in Research, in the Literature and Literacities Seedbed: Literary Knowledge in Education at the PUJ, and in the School Leadership Committee. I have also been invited to serve as an editor for the magazines Íkala, Zona Próxima, and Magis.
I enjoy writing and have published several articles on literacy practices in universities and schools.
