    Miguel Barreto Henriques holds a degree in International Relations and a PhD in International Politics and Conflict Resolution from University of Coimbra, where he defended the dissertation Peace Laboratories in Territories of Violence(s): Opening Paths toward Positive Peace in Colombia? This thesis was awarded by the Casa de la América Latina as the best dissertation in the social sciences and humanities in 2013.

    For several years, he served as Director of the Peacebuilding Observatory at Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

    He has published extensively in the field of Peace Research, with particular emphasis on Colombia and Latin America. His current research interests include the implementation of peace agreements, reconciliation, truth commissions, memory, and art as an instrument for peacebuilding.
