Personal profile
Mauricio Pérez-Flórez is Statistician and Magister in Epidemiología at the Universidad del Valle (Cali-Colombia) and Doctor in Sciences (Public Health Program) at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). He is currently a full-time lecturer at the Pontifical Universidad Javeriana Cali since 2013 and Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology. His experience focuses on the field of biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative research and teaching at university level. Furthermore, he is a researcher at the Economic, Management and Health Research Group (ECGESA).
His research topics during his Master's degree in Epidemiology and his Doctorate in Science focused on the integration of epidemiological data, socioeconomic/environmental variables and spatial analysis techniques based on classical and Bayesian modeling, for the geographic approach to health-related events. Its application in the field of epidemiology and public health is appreciated in themes such as health inequalities and the spatio-temporal analysis of events such as mortality.
He has experience in data analysis in statistical packages such as Stata, IBM SPSS Statistics and R, as well as others such as Epi-Info, EPIDAT and StatGraphics.
