Overview
Personal profile
Mechanical Engineer with a PhD and Master's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. His studies and professional experience focus on phase transformations, heat-affected zone simulation, CCT curves, hydrogen-induced fracture, mechanical testing, and microstructural characterization of steels, primarily for gas and oil pipelines. He also participated in various failure analysis cases for national and international industries; he was a monitor for five years at the University of São Paulo. He also has experience in urban natural gas network construction processes. He conducted research at the University of São Paulo, where he was responsible for the characterization and evaluation of microalloyed HSLA steels for acidic environments (H2S) and their resistance to hydrogen-induced fracture. He received funding from the Brazilian Metallurgy and Mining Company (CBMM) in Brazil, along with international manufacturers. He currently works as a full-time professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences.
