I am a professor and researcher in the Department of Biology at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. My work focuses on the study of biological diversity, with an emphasis on amphibians and reptiles, addressing questions related to their systematics, taxonomy, evolution, biogeography, and conservation. In recent years, I have expanded my interests to include the environmental interactions of amphibians, exploring how these processes contribute to a deeper understanding of species ecology and ecosystem change.
I also work closely with biological collections and university natural history museums, viewing these spaces as essential tools for research, education, and the circulation of scientific knowledge. A central part of my work is devoted to strengthening the value of scientific collections — their organization, digitization, and use in addressing contemporary questions about biodiversity, natural history, and conservation.
