Juliana Velosa Porras is a dentist who holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Clinical Epidemiology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She is a senior researcher recognized by Minciencias and a professor in the School of Dentistry at the same university, where she has built a distinguished career in academia, research, and academic leadership since 2000.

She has extensive experience in oral health research, with a strong focus on clinical epidemiology, periodontal disease and its association with systemic conditions, as well as the analysis of social determinants of oral health, particularly in vulnerable populations such as pregnant women.

Her notable achievements include her classification as a Senior Researcher within the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation, her doctoral work addressing priority public health issues in Colombia, and her leadership in research projects aimed at generating high-quality evidence to inform clinical practice and health policy decision-making.

She has led and participated in numerous research projects and has contributed significantly to institutional visibility through publications in indexed journals and active participation in academic networks and national and international conferences.

She is recognized for her ability to foster research capacity building, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and supervising and evaluating academic work. Her participation in academic and research ethics committees reflects a sustained commitment to quality, scientific rigor, and research integrity.
