Personal profile

Julian Santaella-Tenorio is Professor at the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since October 2023. He teaches epidemiology methods in the School of Medicine, Medical specialty programs, and the Master’s program in clinical Epidemiology. He is the coordinator of the Master’s program in Clinical Epidemiology, and the director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Health Studies (CIES) from the School of Health Sciences at Javeriana.

His research focuses on access to treatment for substance use problems, mental health inequalities, and the evaluation of policies impacting mental health, violence and injury outcomes. Julian Santaella-Tenorio has published manuscripts in high-impact national and international journals. He is a member of the Society for Epidemiological Research and the American Public Health Association. He is currently an associate editor of the American Journal of Public Health for Latin America.
