Personal profile

Juan Alberto Casas Ramírez has been affiliated with the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since 2008. He is currently an associate and regular professor in the Department of Theology. He teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs of Theology and conducts research in the fields of Bible, New Testament, Synoptic Gospels, Gospel of John, Apocalyptic, Apocrypha, Apocryphal Literature, Contextual Reading of the Bible and Latin American Biblical Hermeneutics. 

He has been a guest professor at several universities and institutes in Colombia and Latin America.

He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, and has been a member of the editorial committees of the journals Perseitas (ISSN 2346-1780), Cuestiones Teologicas (ISSN 2389-9980), Caritas Veritatis (ISSN 2539-5033), Argumenta Biblica Theologica (ISSN 2665-4369) and Revista Bíblica (ISSN 2683-7153). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the “Yearbook on Contextual Bible Interpretation” of the Center for Contextual Bible Interpretation of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is a member of the Didaskalia research group. He is a member of the Research and Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Theology.
