Jairo Salas-Páramo is an academic with extensive expertise in business administration, international business, and organizational management. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from Universidad del Valle, Colombia (2019), and completed an internship at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, Spain. He also earned a Master of Science (2008).
Salas-Páramo currently serves as a Full-Time Faculty member in the Economic and Business Administration Sciences at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali, Santiago de Cali, Colombia, a position he has held since 2007. He is also a Visiting Professor at Universidad del Norte, Barranquilla, Colombia, teaching in the Business School since 2014 and in the Master’s in Administrative Engineering program since 2018. Additionally, he has held visiting professorships at Universidad Surcolombiana, Neiva, Colombia, and served as a consultant on diverse firms both public adn private.
His research interests are broad and include strategy, international business, organizational learning, and innovation processes. He has been involved in numerous research projects, such as the study of brand heritage and virtual reality, the bidirectional relationship between country image and product evaluation, and co-creation of value in the fashion and automotive sectors. Salas-Páramo has published extensively, with notable works including "Classic Theories on Organization and Management" and "Contemporary Theories on Organization and Management", as well as numerous papers in high-impact journals. His publications cover a wide range of topics, from the role of the board of directors in non-financial performance to the effects of cultural orientations on innovation and export performance.
Salas-Páramo’s contributions to academia and his commitment to integrating theoretical insights with practical applications have significantly impacted the fields of business administration and international business. His work not only advances academic understanding but also provides valuable guidance for practitioners and policymakers.
