Jairo A. Hurtado is a full professor of the School of Engineering, at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.

He received his doctorate in electronics and telecommunications from the Politecnico di Torino. He was the former chair of the Electronics Engineering Program and has been working on various initiatives to enhance the learning processes of his students.

His main areas of work are signal processing and engineering education.
