Medical geneticist, Master's in Biology, and PhD in Biological Sciences from Javeriana University. Twenty years of experience in clinical genetics, ten years in forensic genetics, and twenty-two years in clinical and basic research, as well as undergraduate and graduate teaching. Full Professor and Director of the Institute of Human Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontifical Javeriana University. Vice President of the Colombian Association of Medical Geneticists and Genomic Medicine. Advisor to the Surveillance and Follow-up Program for Children with Congenital Defects of the Bogotá Health Secretariat. Editor of the journal Salud Javeriana. Head of the Genetics Service and Coordinator of Rare Diseases at San Ignacio University Hospital. Member of the National Board on Rare Diseases representing the ACSC. Areas of expertise include medical genetics, congenital malformations, demography, clinical trial management, forensic genetics, and digital teaching and assessment tools. Author of more than 90 scientific articles, 5 books and several chapters in academic publications.
