Rodrigo Alberto Heredia is linked to the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since 2011 and is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Aging where he mainly develops teaching work in the medical career and in the postgraduate program in geriatrics. He also develops research work in the field of old age, aging and education. He has developed several research projects in geriatrics and gerontology related to frailty, falls, rehabilitation and pressure skin injuries. He has been a leader in the teaching program in old age and aging of the medical career and academic coordinator of the specialization in geriatrics. He has also served as a consultant in population aging programs such as the SABE Colombia survey. The main research interests of the professor are the understanding of the biological processes of aging and their relationship in the impact on old age. He is also interested in all topics of rehabilitation of the elderly. The professor has published over the years several articles in various national and international indexed journals, as well as has written book chapters and has been an academic editor in the publication of books.
