Personal profile
I am an Electronic Engineer from the Industrial University of Santander, Master's in Electronic Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Doctor in Automation and Computer Engineering from l'Université de Valenciennes et du Hainaut-Cambrésis (France). My areas of interest include distributed artificial intelligence, architectures for controlling intelligent manufacturing systems, and their integration through cyber-physical production systems that involve humans. My research and teaching experience also cover topics such as computer vision for industrial applications, industrial robotics, metaheuristics applied to flexible manufacturing systems control, distributed production control using multi-agent and holonic manufacturing systems, and discrete event simulation. During an administrative role for 6 years, I was involved in academic management processes related to international accreditation, curriculum design, creation of undergraduate and graduate academic programs, among others. Currently, I lead the ZENTECH research group.
