Juan Manuel Gómez González is a professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he currently teaches Financial Modeling and Investment Valuation, and advises the research group Integración y Contexto Contable. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics and an M.Sc. in Quantitative Finance. His academic work has been strongly research-oriented, with experience in quantitative analysis and in the application of econometric, multivariate, and modeling tools to business, financial, and strategic problems.
His research agenda brings together family business, entrepreneurship, corporate and behavioral finance, and energy planning and investment portfolio. His studies have examined topics such as succession and performance in family firms, entrepreneurial orientation, digital transformation, portfolio decisions, electricity purchasing strategies, and the determinants of project finance success in renewable energy. Overall, his research seeks to produce knowledge with both academic and practical value, especially for decision-making under risk and uncertainty in organizations, investment settings, and energy systems. He has published in journals such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Family Business Strategy, Renewable Energy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance.
