Overview

Personal profile

I am Arturo Fajardo, an Electronic Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where I also completed my Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. I later obtained my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil. Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia.

My career has been guided by a profound passion for both research and education. As the leader of the SISCOM research group, I have directed numerous projects in the areas of power electronics, wireless sensor networks, RF circuit design, and isolated water-energy microgrids. I also mentor undergraduate and graduate students through research programs and academic advising. I am an engineer by profession, but a teacher by heart.

Throughout my academic journey, I have authored over 50 research publications and taken part in nearly 20 projects. My work contributes to several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of clean energy, water access, and sustainable urban development.

Beyond my professional life, I am the proud father of a 14-year-old daughter—the love of my life and my greatest source of joy and purpose. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball and tennis, and I am a lifelong table tennis enthusiast. I am also an avid fan of strategy board games, especially German-style games such as Saint Petersburg, Azul, and Kingdomino.

This combination of technical dedication, educational commitment, and playful curiosity defines who I am—always learning, always teaching, and always engaging with the world around me.
