Personal profile

Eliana María González Neira has been linked to Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since 2009 and is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering. Currently, she teaches in the Industrial Engineering and Master's in Industrial Engineering programs, focusing on quantitative methods. She supervises undergraduate and master's degree projects in Industrial Engineering and conducts research in quantitative methods applied to solving production and logistics problems in goods and services production, involving the analysis of stochastic variables. 

She has conducted various research projects on production scheduling in deterministic and stochastic environments, integrated production scheduling with routing, operating room scheduling in deterministic and stochastic environments, experimental designs to evaluate the effectiveness of laparoscopy training tests, among others. She has also served as the coordinator of undergraduate thesis projects in the Industrial Engineering program, head of the Quantitative Methods section in the Department of Industrial Engineering, and leader of the Operations Research Seedbed in Health.

Her main research interests include operations research applied to production and logistics problem-solving and health-related issues. She has published a total of 25 original articles in SCOPUS or ISI-indexed journals, with over 370 citations. She has served as a reviewer for scientific publications in various SCOPUS and ISI-indexed journals such as Computers and Operations Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Annals of Operations Research, Expert Systems with Applications, among others. She has participated in the evaluation of doctoral and master's theses at other universities in the country and abroad. Finally, in her professional career, she worked for 5 years as the Logistics Manager in an optical sector company.
