    Daniel Guillermo Valencia Nieto has been linked to the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana since 1999 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Communication of the Faculty of Communication and Language. He carries out teaching work in the Communication and Culture, Media and Public Opinion, Political Economy of Communication and Information programs, and research in the fields of Political Economy of Communication and Public Policies in Communication and Culture. He has developed various investigations on issues of regional media industries in Colombia, the working and social conditions of journalists in the regions of Colombia, and the political participation of young people as citizen expressions. Likewise, he has served as a consultant/advisor/invited professor for the Ministry of National Education, and for the University of Manizales, and the National University of Colombia. The professor's main interests include The Political Economy of Communication, and Public Policies of Communication and culture, as well as Public Opinion studies. He is also interested in communication practices and sociocultural processes. The professor has over the years published a considerable number of original articles with close to ninety citations in highly reputed international peer-reviewed journals.
