Diana Haidive Bueno Carreño is linked to the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali sectional since 2008 and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, performing teaching, research and service in the area of mathematics.  Professor Bueno was the director of the Applied Mathematics Program between February 2017 and March 2023.

She is a graduate, master and doctor in Mathematics who has studied in different campuses and cities, which has allowed her to know different ways of conceiving mathematics as a discipline and as a profession. Her research in mathematics is developed within the framework of Information Theory, which addresses, from a mathematical point of view, the problem of transmitting a message from a sender to a receiver through a communication channel with noise. In particular, he works in Code Theory, which has become a discipline of intersection of mathematics, engineering and science. His interest in mathematics education has allowed him to be part of different teams and projects such as the GeoGebra Cali Institute, mathematical circles Colombia, and the Commission of mathematics education and divulgation of the Colombian Society of Mathematics.
