    Personal profile

    Professional bacteriologist with a master's degree in clinical laboratory sciences and a doctoral student in biological sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ). With recognition for my academic excellence at both high school and university, I was awarded a meritorious honorable mention for best undergraduate thesis. I completed my mandatory rural or social service with the F.F.M.M. of Colombia and worked for several years in clinical laboratory care in low-, medium-, and high-complexity hospitals. I was a research assistant on a COVID-19 research and diagnostic project at the Institute of Human Genetics-PUJ and UNal. At PUJ, as a research assistant, I worked on a project with a mouse model for the study of recombinant rotaviruses, funded by the General Royalties System. Another project on frontotemporal diseases at the Institute of Aging-PUJ and funded by the NIH allowed me to support the molecular biology and genetics areas of the study. Currently, I work as a bioinformatics data analyst for exome NGS. With the ability to manage and administer testing laboratories, with scientific and research training acquired in the areas of genetics, molecular biology, flow cytometry, mycology, microbiology, immunology, laboratory quality control, epidemiological surveillance, and clinical laboratory certification.
