Personal profile
I am a professor in the Department of Environmental Microbiology and a researcher at the Environmental and Industrial Biotechnology Group (GBAI) at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá D.C.-Colombia). I am a biologist and M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences from the Universidad del Quindío (Armenia-Colombia) and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá D.C.-Colombia).
My main academic interests focus on Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, cloning and expression of recombinant proteins and enzymes and their use in different industries such as food, pharmaceutical and agrobiological, as well as for wastewater treatment.
I am passionate about scientific dissemination and that is why I am the creator of @biotecnofilos on Instagram and TikTok, to share and make my knowledge reach people from other areas or all those passionate about Science.
