Jesús Armando Sánchez Godoy is a physician, holds a Master’s degree in Physiology, is a specialist in University Teaching, and has a PhD in Education. Since 2002, he has been a faculty member of the Department of Physiological Sciences at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he has also served as Department Chair. At the undergraduate level, he has taught physiology and pathophysiology in various health sciences programs, mainly in the medical program, where, as a semester coordinator, he has promoted the integration of basic sciences (including the integrated Systems and Metabolism course), clinical training, and socio-humanistic and research training, in alignment with an integrated competency-based curriculum. At the graduate level, he is a professor in the Master’s in Biological Sciences and in the Master’s in Education for Health Professionals (PUJ–Universidad del Rosario), where he coordinates the course Applied Research II.

His research activity focuses on the pathophysiology of multifactorial diseases, high-altitude adaptation and hypoxia, the physiology and pharmacology of the neuromuscular junction, and medical education, with emphasis on clinical reasoning, cognitive integration, assessment of learning in clinical settings, and the quality of virtual learning environments. He is the leader of the Colombian Group for Research in Education and Applications of Biomedical Sciences, recognized in category A1 by Minciencias. He has also led curricular innovation, evaluation, and quality assurance processes, and has promoted the pedagogical use of virtual learning platforms in the teaching of medicine.
