Overview
Personal profile
His philosophical interests focus on the influence of Christianity on the history of metaphysics and on the dialogue between faith, reason, and culture. More specifically, his main line of research is oriented toward the metaphysics of Thomas Aquinas, understood as a metaphysics of light. This approach has allowed him to address the influence of Platonism on Thomistic thought, with special attention to the doctrine of divine ideas, the principle of participation, the reciprocity between causes, and the notion of beauty. At the same time, he is developing a line of work in contemporary philosophy, interested in how medieval thought can dialogue with cognitive science and contemporary physics. This openness seeks to explore the validity of classical notions in current contexts and to foster a bridge between the philosophical tradition and the scientific developments of our time.
