    Dr. Aura Marina Pedroza Rodríguez is a full-time Titular professor II assigned to the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Sciences, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, since 2000. She completed her undergraduate studies in Bacteriology (1989-1995), Master of Science (1998-2000) and PhD (2003-2006) in Biotechnology at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies, National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico City. Her research focuses on the use of microorganisms, mainly ligninolytic fungi and bacteria, for the treatment of industrial and domestic wastewater. Additionally, she has conducted studies related to the implementation of sequential wastewater treatment systems using mycoremediation and advanced oxidation processes such as photocatalysis, UV photolysis, Fenton processes and Photofenton. He participates full-time in the undergraduate programs in Industrial Microbiology, Master of Science, Doctorate in Science, and Doctorate in Materials Science and Technology at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. His academic output includes 76 indexed publications, 105 participations in scientific events, 5 laboratory manuals, 1 book on environmental microbiology, two patents granted in wastewater treatment with ligninolytic fungi, and has trained 11 PhDs in Science and Materials, 13 Master of Science, and 97 Industrial Microbiologists.
