    Overview

    Personal profile

Architect with an emphasis on architectural design, with solid experience in the design, visualization, coordination, and execution of projects and competitions. He possesses knowledge in budgeting, regulations, and construction supervision. His professional practice is complemented by a strong interest in theory, drawing, photography, research, and pedagogical innovation in architectural education.

His academic, research, and creative work focuses on the comprehensive analysis of the architectural object, further developing this general approach through research and production related to school architecture, housing, and the domestic habitat. He has also undertaken a critical reflection on the duality between the universal and the specific in architecture through the focused study of educational architectural prototypes built in Colombia during the last decade, in order to understand their feasibility, impact, and level of appropriation by the communities that inhabit them. Additionally, he has explored new forms of architectural representation and understanding through the use of immersive digital visualization platforms such as virtual reality. He has also incorporated gamification strategies into research processes and the teaching of architectural history and design through the transmedia board game G.A.U.D.I. (Universal Architectural Guide for Discovery and Investigation).

He began his teaching career in 2014. Since 2018, he has served as a full-time Assistant Professor and researcher (2024) in the POIESIS research group at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali. He has taught several courses in the areas of Architectural Design Studio, Urbanism, and History, Theory, and Criticism. He has been the tutor of the Habitat Studies research seedbed since 2018 and supported the development of the inter-semester workshop “More Urban, More Rural, More Social” between 2018 and 2022.
