Andrés Mauricio Rivera Acevedo is a Full Professor in the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali since 2006, and a member of the EMAP research group. His academic and scientific trajectory has been consolidated in the areas of mathematical analysis, dynamical systems, optimal control theory, and functional differential equations, including discrete time-delay equations and memory-dependent models.

He has conducted research on the stability, periodicity, and oscillatory behavior of nonlinear systems, with applications in Celestial Mechanics, electrostatic actuators, epidemiology, economic modeling, and urban criminality. His recent work integrates advanced mathematical tools to study complex social dynamics and decision-making processes.

He has authored scientific publications, books, and book chapters, and has established international collaborations with researchers from Europe and Latin America. In addition, he has served as a consultant for private institutions in the systematization and evaluation of youth protection programs in Santiago de Cali, bridging applied research, mathematical modeling, and public policy analysis.
