Her teaching identity is located in the approach to the sociocultural aspects of food and nutrition education through service-learning with the Javeriana Formation for Social Change and Peace. Her research interest examines policies, services, and programs from the social and community perspective of Food and Nutrition, with a reflective focus on the scope of health education, art and health, primary health care, user studies, professional performance, university food environments, qualitative comparative studies, and Latin American studies.
