Organization profile

Organization profile

Academic research in Latin American literature at the height of the twenty-first century comprises hierarchies, polarities and distortions: from the value of a historical tradition that still persists in the formation of knowledge, to a corporate and economic structure focused on imposing "an evaluation system that has become more important than the research itself" (Judit Sutz). Thus, it is necessary to exercise, develop, re-reflect and intervene in the work of literary research in the shreds of the professional field – in its repertoires and demands, in its practices and discourses, in its formations and institutions – in order to re-discern how we constitute our object of study as an aesthetic, identity, social and cultural heritage. "Latin America" in its Literature, from its multiple edges, discourses and geographies, cuts the critical gaze of the Seedbed of Literary Research.
