Organization profile

Organization profile

He focuses his interest on physical and/or chemical pre-treatment of plastic polymers and other polluting solid waste, and on the search for potentially biodegrading microorganisms in these materials. It will have field work (collection of polluting solid waste and isolation of potential microorganisms) and laboratory work (sample processing, physical and/or chemical pre-treatments and biological treatments) and it is expected to contribute to the search for physicochemical strategies, friendly to the environment, that favor the biodegradation of these materials. In the same way, it is intended that its members integrate knowledge in biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics and statistics, for the analysis and discussion of the results obtained in the experiments that are carried out, as well as the acquisition of skills and abilities in the handling of instruments and equipment used for this purpose.
