The general objective of the STRUCTURES & CONSTRUCTION group is to strengthen the Structures Section of the Department of Civil Engineering of the Pontifical Javeriana University by developing projects that contribute to the solution of the main problems of the country that fall within the competence of structural engineering. In the same way, strengthen research on construction processes that include the theme Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the impacts of the themes of construction and design in the future of self-sustainable structures (GREEN BUILDINGS) The specific objectives are presented below: Create a line of research to give continuity and projection to the various projects and research developed by the group. To strengthen the relationship that exists between the Department and the public sector through the development of research and special continuing education programmes. The institutions of interest in this sense are the Institute of Urban Development, National Institute of Roads, Colombian Association of Earthquake Engineering, Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) among others.
