Elitros is the seedbed born from the student group working on Arthropods "Elitros" founded in 1998 and that for decades has generated dozens of scholars of these organisms at the PUJ. It is a group that integrates students, graduates and external students in activities related to entomology and that are the support group of the Entomology Laboratory of the Faculty of Sciences and the Entomology Collection of the Javeriano Museum of Natural History.
