Organization profile

Research fields

Identification of pests and characterization of damage and incidence in crops; Biology and ecology of entomopathogenic nematodes; Evaluation of pest control methods; Development of Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IMPE) programs in crops

Organization profile

The seedbed is aimed at students with interest in the study of organisms called biological control agents for the control of pest insect populations in crops, as alternatives to include in their management. It focuses especially on projects and work with species of entomopathogenic nematodes and their bacterial, parasitoid or fungal symbionts, for the control of pests in crops of economic interest such as corn, potatoes, coffee, etc.The seedbed encourages the generation of new ideas, and collaborative work with other seedbeds of the research group or other groups, seeking to innovate and ensure that the knowledge produced does not simply remain on paper, but can be put into practice knowing the reality of the country.
