Arrochelados: Group of Afro-Colombian Studies is a space for dialogue and research on various themes related to the history, culture, politics and contemporary struggles of the Afro-Colombian population. It brings together faculty members, alumni, undergraduate and graduate students, who come from very different and diverse disciplines and work fields and are united by a shared interest in research and critical thinking on the main historical processes of the Afro-Colombian diaspora, intellectual movements and black literatures, Afro-Colombian leadership and social movements, aesthetic resistances, black geographies, diasporic territories, and migrations. The group ultimate goal is to think of tools and strategies to overcome inequalities, racism and discrimination.
